January 2017 Announcement
We are pleased to announce our first From the Heart Book Club selection for January 2017, ‘Becoming Human’ by Jean Vanier. Jean Vanier, founder of L’Arche in 1964, and the Templeton Prize 2015 award winner for his exceptional contribution to life, relationships, and community. From its humble beginnings in 1964 with 2 residents, L’Arche has grown to 147 residential communities in 35 countries.
You are important!
We are busy people. We live in a culture of success. We push people down and out of the way to get ahead. We don’t recognize that everyone is a person. You are important. Every person is important. So why do we treat people as if they don’t matter? Why do we not hear a person? A person can teach us so much if we take the time to listen. Every person is crying out to be loved. Are you listening? How are you responding?
This is Jean Vanier message to his residents, to you, and to me!
